The Undertaker hung up his wrestling boots back in 2020 after wrestling his final match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. However, The Deadman recently made a revelation about considering a return to the ring, had The Icon Sting not retired for good in recent memory.

The battle between The Phenom and The Franchise of WCW stands as one of the most elusive dream matches for modern wrestling fans, existing primarily in the realm of speculation and imagination.

Despite sharing the WWE stage briefly in 2015, fate never brought both iconic legends together for a showdown inside the squared circle.

In a recent exclusive Q&A session on his Patreon platform, Undertaker revealed a moment of contemplation during a return trip from Australia. He confided in his wife, Michelle McCool, about entertaining the idea of a comeback, but ultimately talked himself out of it.

In a light-hearted manner, Undertaker hinted at the missed opportunity for a potential return bout, suggesting that if Sting hadn’t retired at AEW Revolution 2024, perhaps there could have been an intriguing showdown on the horizon.

“It’s still tough for me. I’m still coming to grips with it. I may or may not have said to my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback. Fortunately, I think I’ve talked myself out of that,” he said. “No, there’s not one more match. I just got back from Australia. I was tired and I knew I had a lot of stuff coming up and that was me just feeling comfortable saying it. That’s the only thing I do know. Don’t expect it. There’s not going to be one more match. Don’t even start.

Well, I mean, if Sting hadn’t retired, maybe. He ruined the whole thing. I got new knees and he went and had to go and retire… Oh my gosh, we’re going to get so much heat for that.”

While this dream showdown may never come to fruition considering the time passing by both of them, The Undertaker vs Sting would always remain one of the most talked bout dream matches that never happened in many conversations for the years to come.
