Mercedes Mone had the wrestling world on their feet after dropping various hints for months in regards to her return to the squared circle. Tonight in her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, the CEO of women’s wrestling arrived in smashing fashion to the All Elite landscape.
Ever since AEW President Tony Khan announced the special edition of the AEW Dynamite show, multiple eastern eggs hinted towards Mercedes’ arrival to the company. Moreover, she herself did not refrain from fueling the speculations regarding the show.
On tonight’s edition of AEW Big Business, as Renee Paquette announced the line-up for tonight’s card, a car pulled right next to her backstage. Right after, Mone’s music hit and Mercedes finally came out to the crowd to a thunderous ovation and loud ‘CEO’ chants.
Mone grabbed the microphone to address her hometown crowd of Boston, thanking them for sticking by her side for the last two years of her life ever since she left WWE in unceremonious fashion. Moreover, she credited wrestling for saving her life and stars like Eddie Guerrero to inspire her which led her to achieve groundbreaking feats that had been impossible for women for years.
Furthermore, she turned her attention towards the women’s division, mentioning her past issues with Williow Nightingale before thanking Tony Khan for giving her the huge opportunity.
With the former WWE Women’s champion officially becoming All Elite, it will be interesting to witness the latest chapter of Mercedes Mone’s career in a completely different playfield.
