AEW burst onto the wrestling scene in 2019 with remarkable momentum, reaching its pinnacle after the All Out 2021 event, where many anticipated it would ascend to dominance in the pro wrestling world. However, the current landscape presents a different picture, with AEW encountering challenges in selling tickets for their live shows. With that said, Eddie Kingston has hit back at haters who claim AEW has fallen off.

While speaking to Steve Fall, Eddie Kingston was asked about where he sees AEW in one year. Eddie Kingston envisions AEW continuing to grow and thrive in the coming year. Despite criticisms from some quarters about AEW’s supposed decline, Kingston remains steadfast in his belief that as long as he and other talented wrestlers like Moxley are part of AEW, the promotion will remain strong.

“I still see it growing. I know a lot of people said, “Oh AEW fell off’ or whatever they say on the internet. Look, as long as I’m around AEW is not falling off, we’ll be alright. As long as I’m able to wrestle and certain guys like Mox and other guys are still wrestling, AEW ain’t going nowhere.

Kingston dismisses notions of AEW being on the decline, emphasizing that the dedication and hard work of the wrestlers continue unabated. Kingston refutes the idea that AEW is “back” after specific events, asserting that the promotion has consistently delivered top-notch wrestling. He reaffirms his commitment to AEW’s ongoing success, asserting that as long as he’s able to compete, AEW will keep progressing forward.

”And it’s not going down nowhere. Like I remember hearing someone say, ‘Oh, we’re back. We’re back.’ AEW is back after scumbag Okada debut.”

”And I was just like, I didn’t go anywhere. No one went anywhere. There’s no one back. We’ve been here. You know, I mean, it’s not our fault you weren’t watching. We’re busting our asses still everyday. To put out great matches and great professional wrestling. So just because you guys went away doesn’t mean that we’re back. We’ve been there. So no, I just see AEW growing and continuing to grow and as long as I’m alive and kicking and able to get in the ring, AEW is gonna keep rolling.”

We will have to wait and see whether AEW will continue to grow this year and make 2024 to be a true turnaround year for the company, as they finally have some momentum going right now.
