Christian Cage has been hailed as one of the best heels in AEW right now, especially after his solid feuds with the likes of Adam Copeland. Interestingly enough, he has seemingly accused Candice LeRae of stealing his gimmick after RAW this week.
This week’s episode of RAW may have caused Maxxine Dupri to reconsider her choice to become an in-ring performer. In a tag team bout against Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, LeRae unexpectedly launched a verbal assault on Dupri.
LeRae asserted that Dupri didn’t belong in WWE, referring to recent fan backlash and even mentioning Dupri’s deceased brother, insinuating that he would have been embarrassed by her current status.
“You know why everyone boo’s you? You don’t belong here. You think the internet hates you? You should hear what the girls in the locker room say. It’s a good thing your dead brother isn’t here to see what an embarrassment you’ve become.”
Many fans immediately thought of Christian Cage when LeRae mentioned Dupri’s deceased brother, as Cage has made a career out of disrespecting pro wrestlers who have dead fathers. Cage has now taken to Twitter and seemingly accused Candice LeRae of stealing his gimmick.
”They ALL want to be me”
Candice LeRae is also unapologetic about her comments about Maxxine Dupri’s brother. Nevertheless, many fans will agree that Christian Cage does the gimmick better and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
