Despite not having a nomination, John Cena stole the spotlight at the 2024 Academy Awards thanks to his ‘nude’ appearance. The true story behind his unexpected appearance sans clothes on stage has now surfaced.

While presenting the award for Best Costume Design, Cena engaged in a playful argument with Jimmy Kimmel, opting out of the planned ‘streaker bit.’ A visibly amused yet exasperated Kimmel handed Cena the award envelope and left him center stage, exposed, and with only the envelope preserving his modesty.

During the nominee reel, John Cena managed a swift costume change with the assistance of several individuals. Sporting a toga-shaped cloth, he revealed the winner of the award before making his exit from the stage.

Fortunately, for fans who were spared from witnessing it live, it seems that John Cena had more than just his bare skin on display at the awards. A photograph capturing the star’s posterior revealed that he was, in fact, wearing a skin-colored undergarment, effectively covering the necessary areas.

John Cena truly went all out in order to promote his ‘Ricky Stanicky’ film, and fans appreciate him for that, as he effectively grabbed headlines with his Oscars stunt. Nevertheless, fans are hoping John Cena will appear at WrestleMania 40 after he confirmed his status for the event, so we’ll have to see if he will appear at the show somehow.
