The world is still shaking with the intense action that unfolded in the main event of AEW Revolution 2024. Darby Allin teamed up with Sting to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Young Bucks which was featured as the Icon’s last match in the squared circle.

While the EVPs of AEW gave a good fight, Sting and Allin were enough to keep them down and retain the Tag Team Championships. With Sting’s last match being a massive attraction, AEW Revolution turned out to be one of the most successful pay-per-views in AEW history.

While viewerships were one way to say that safely, as per a new report from Dave Meltzer, AEW made history on Sunday with AEW Revolution. As per the update, the merchandise sales on the pay-per-view was the highest after AEW All In 2023.

“The merchandise at the show was the biggest for any AEW show in history except for Wembley. Like $22 a head, $21.84 a head, something like that. Ridiculously high numbers. Mostly Sting merchandise.”

The update specifically states that most of these sales have been thanks to the former WWE Superstar’s last match. Fans cherished the Icon’s last match and will forever acknowledge him as one of the greatest to ever do it.
