Mercedes Mone’s star continues to shine brighter every single day, as we approach her rumored AEW debut at Big Business next week. However, it’s a fact that she has ton of haters online for no reason and Mone has now addressed the toxicity she endures on social media regularly.

The advent of social media is a double-edged sword. While it helps fans interact with their favorite wrestlers easier than ever before, the disadvantage is the rampant toxicity as well as people spewing unwarranted hatred towards a professional wrestler.

While speaking to Evan T Mack on the Kick Rocks Wrestling Podcast, Mercedes Mone highlighted the harsh nature of social media, especially for celebrities who face online bullying and harassment daily. She emphasized the toll it takes on mental health and the misconception that public figures should simply endure it as part of their profession. Martinez shared her journey of developing resilience against hurtful comments, urging for collective strength as a community to withstand the negative impact of words.

“Social media is so mean, people don’t understand that, us celebrities, we legit get bullied & harassed online every single day & people are like ‘well it’s part of the business you guys can take it. It’s taken years to toughen my skin because I would read things & be like ‘somebody called me this & think I’m this’ & break down for people’s comments like, people do that, people get so hurt people’s comments that they take their lives.

Mone encouraged people to be aware of the anonymity behind online comments and stressed the importance of not letting words lead to mental health issues. In the face of the evolving digital landscape, she emphasized the need for strength, self-awareness, and resilience to navigate the challenges posed by online interactions.

”I told myself you can’t let comments, who knows if these are spam bots or, you see these people in real life & go ‘oh ah you let these people hurt you, you let words hurt you’…we gotta be stronger, more powerful as a community & as people to not let words affect us so hard that we’re breaking down, having mental health issues, that we wanna think the worst, it’s like these are just words, bots, we have no idea are behind the internet, the internet’s gonna keep on getting crazy we’re in the terminator era, you just gotta be strong, know who you are. I know who I am — it’s just knowing I don’t want no words to interrupt my life & I can’t let any words hurt my life, cause I won’t.”

Even Rhea Ripley was recently almost the victim of a social media hacking. Nevertheless, Mercedes Mone has overcome a lot of toxicity and hatred over the years and that’s unlikely to put her down, no matter what.
