Sammy Guevara has been a consistent presence on AEW television since his debut in 2019. Regrettably, he has been involved in incidents causing injury to his opponents, with the latest instance being Jeff Hardy. Consequently, he has faced suspension from AEW as a result of these actions. In light of his suspension, AEW has scrapped big plans for Guevara.

As previously mentioned, Sammy Guevara is currently under suspension for his involvement in a match against Jeff Hardy on February 14th. In this bout, Jeff Hardy suffered an injury, and it appears that concussion protocol was not observed. Furthermore, Guevara executed his finishing move on Hardy, a maneuver that should not have been performed.

As seen during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho aligned himself with HOOK for the latter’s FTW Championship match against Brian Cage. Some fans found this pairing quite odd as well.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara’s team is no longer in the plans, as Jericho is now paired up with HOOK.

“The Jericho-Guevera team is out the window.”

Sammy Guevara has also broken his silence following his suspension. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen when Guevara will return to AEW television and whether AEW will have anything planned for him upon his return.
