Last month, Sting and Darby Allin secured the AEW Tag Team Championship titles and effectively defended their belts against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution. It ended up being Sting’s retirement match and WWE acknowledged the same on RAW this week. In light of this, Tony Schiavone has addressed WWE’s acknowledgement.

In the AEW Revolution pay-per-view’s main event, Sting and Darby Allin defended their AEW World Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks. The match featured various callbacks and emotional moments, providing a memorable experience for the attending fans. Sting and Darby Allin would successfully retain their titles in the end, as he retired undefeated.

During this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, Michael Cole addressed Sting’s retirement at Revolution, extending his well-wishes for The Vigilante’s final performance inside the squared circle. Cole made these remarks at the outset of the match between ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio and the WWE Intercontinental champion GUNTHER.

While speaking on What Happened When, Tony Schiavone acknowledged the mention of Sting and his last match on RAW commentary by Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, describing it as a “pretty cool thing” and emphasizing that it was the right thing to do.

Sting had a brief stint in WWE in 2014, engaging in matches against Seth Rollins and Triple H. However, a significant neck injury led to his first retirement. He was subsequently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016. In a surprising turn of events, Sting returned to the ring in 2021, signing with AEW. Over the next three years, he continued to wrestle before officially retiring for the last time at AEW Revolution.
