Sami Zayn Weighs In On Potential Match With Gunther at WrestleMania 40

The WrestleMania 40 card has started shaping up and a few matches have already been confirmed for the event. Being the Grandest Stage of them All, all championships are expected to be defended at the show with some of the best challenges in the entire reign of the titleholder. 

The Intercontinental Champion Gunther has proved his dominance on Raw day in and out. With WrestleMania on the horizon, the Ring General doesn’t have a challenger for his title at the show. However, a gauntlet match featuring Sami Zayn, Chad Gable, Bronson Reed, Ricochet, JD McDonaugh, and Shinsuke Nakamura on the upcoming episode of WWE Raw will determine the challenger for Gunther at WrestleMania. 

Having an opportunity to get back on the top of the roster, former Intercontinental Champion SamI Zayn commented on his possible match with the Ring General on the latest episode of WWE The Bump. The former Blooldine member came face-to-face with Gunther before the match was announced by Adam Pearce, when Zayn knew that this was his path to WrestleMania. 

“He laughed in my face, which is okay. Cool. You are cool. You’re a cool guy, that is fine. But it doesn’t matter because at that moment I was like ‘there it is’. My path (to WrestleMania) just walked right by me and it presented itself. That laugh was the universe telling me ‘Here’s the moment, here is your guy, there is your path, that is your WrestleMania ticket right there.”

With all set, Sami Zayn is just one win away from challenging Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at the Showcase of Immortals, However, with the star studded match on the road, Zayn has a huge task ahead of him this week on Raw before he gets to the Ring General.
