The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for April 5th, and there’s buzz about one of wrestling’s toughest competitors potentially joining Paul Heyman in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

During the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that there is speculation that Haku could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Haku, known as the father of Tama Tonga, recently transitioned from New Japan Pro Wrestling to WWE. Despite not being blood-related, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has referred to Haku as his uncle.

Haku’s illustrious career includes holding the WWE Tag Team Championships alongside the legendary Andre the Giant. He boasts numerous titles from promotions like the NWA and Puerto Rico’s WWC. Under the moniker Meng in WCW, Haku even secured the WCW Hardcore Championship. Notably, during the peak of the Monday Night War, Haku made a dramatic return to WWF while still holding the WCW Hardcore title.

Renowned for his unparalleled toughness, Haku is often hailed by fellow wrestlers as one of the most formidable individuals to grace the squared circle. Ric Flair once dubbed him “the toughest son of a b**** I’ve ever met,” suggesting he would have excelled in MMA had he pursued it. Icons such as Hulk Hogan, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Goldberg, Big Van Vader, and The Rock have all attested to Haku’s unmatched fortitude.

One legendary tale highlighting Haku’s toughness occurred at a Baltimore Airport bar in 1989. When confronted by individuals belittling wrestling as fake, Haku decisively defended himself, even biting off the nose of one of his assailants despite being outnumbered.

Shane Douglas famously remarked that he’d rather face the U.S. Army than take on Haku in a real fight. Recounting an incident where law enforcement attempted to restrain Haku, Douglas described how Haku effortlessly fended off their efforts, enduring blows from a baton and mace without flinching.

As anticipation builds for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on April 5th, wrestling fans are abuzz with speculation about Haku potentially joining Paul Heyman in the prestigious Class of 2024. With an illustrious career spanning various promotions and championships, including memorable tag team success alongside Andre the Giant, Haku’s induction would be a fitting tribute to his contributions to the wrestling world.
