Kyle O’Reilly has endured significant physical strain throughout his career, culminating in his arrival in AEW alongside several compatriots. Absent for an extended period due to injury, he made his long-awaited return during AEW Revolution. However, O’Reilly noted that he still has some questions he needs answered regarding a medical clearance.
Kyle O’Reilly underwent neck fusion surgery in September 2022, leading to expectations of a prolonged absence from action. Despite the significant setback, he embarked on a rehabilitation journey and demonstrated great progress over the years.
During the AEW Revolution pay-per-view, Kyle O’Reilly made a surprising return to the company after Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong’s match. Notably, he did not immediately align himself with The Undisputed Kingdom.
Kyle O’Reilly took to his Instagram and uploaded a video of himself chronicling his recovery journey over the past 20 months. However, O’Reilly added that he is still waiting for some answers when it comes to his medical clearance for an in-ring return.
”Thank you to anybody that has ever supported me from humble beginnings to the big stage. Knowing that there’s somebody out there that wants to see Kyle O’Reilly compete again has been a huge source of motivation for me to get back. As you can see I’ve put in some effort these last 20 months or so, thanks to @unconventional_strength and many others for helping me achieve my goal of regaining a fully functioning right arm. I’m still waiting for some questions to be answered but I can be proud knowing I’ve done everything in my power to lace them up again. It’s out of my hands and into the hands of those with medical degrees. Thanks for being patient with me.”
It was previously reported that Kyle O’Reilly is set to get a new character direction as well as makeover following his AEW return. We will have to wait and see when Kyle O’Reilly will be able to wrestle again following his AEW return.
