Top Dolla was released from his WWE contract last year, marking the second time he was let go. Taking it in stride, Dolla has remained active in the pro wrestling world, but he recently claimed that John Cena considers him the world’s best rapper.
While speaking to Riju Dasgupta, Top Dolla shared an anecdote about meeting John Cena and having a conversation in Cena’s dressing room. According to Top Dolla, Cena praised him, saying, ‘Man, you’re the best rapper on Earth.’
Cena encouraged him to showcase his skills when given the opportunity. However, Top Dolla expressed frustration that he never truly had the chance to fully demonstrate his talents, emphasizing the limitations imposed by the opportunities provided in the wrestling industry.
”Meeting John Cena and having a conversation with Cena in his dressing room, and Cena was like, ‘Man, you’re the best rapper on Earth.’ He was like, ‘You gotta show them out there when you get the opportunity.’ Sad thing is I never really got the opportunity, so it’s a double-edged sword. You can only do as much as you’re given.”
Top Dolla is now one of the regulars in TNA Wrestling and even made his debut in MLW a while ago. Nevertheless, his rapping skills clearly impressed Cena, who was once known as the Doctor of Thuganomics. We will have to wait and see whether he will ever make his way back to WWE somewhere down the line.
