The world witnessed the final time Sting competed in his final wrestling match and went out as a champion at AEW Revolution with Tony Khan showering massive praise for The Icon’s resurgence in his company.

The AEW President took to his X to state that Sting completed the greatest comeback in sports history last night at the AEW Revolution show where he concluded his four-decade-long career.

After The Icon’s disastrous run in WWE in 2015, he took his first retirement due to injuries the following year at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, where he was also the headliner inductee.

Moreover, he bound his time and reemerged back into the wrestling world with AEW and as Tony noted, he completed three years with the company with a staggering 30-match win and no-loss record and retired as the AEW World champion.

“Last night at #AEWRevolution, Sting completed the greatest comeback in sports history. @Sting‘s 3 Year Run in AEW from Age 61-64: 30 matches, 30-0 record (29-0 in AEW, 1-0 in NOAH for Great Muta’s Send-Off) + Retired as @AEW World Tag Team Champion in the best last match ever.”

The Stinger made it clear that he has no plans to work as a manager or agent in AEW after his retirement at the post-event media scrum. So we will have to wait and see what the future holds next for the Franchise of WCW after receiving his much-deserved storybook ending.
