Sting and Darby Allin became the AEW Tag Team Champions last month and defended their titles against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution tonight. They retained the titles in what became Sting’s last-ever match. The future of the titles was uncertain, but Tony Khan has now confirmed the status of the titles.

In the main event of the AEW Revolution pay-per-view, Sting and Darby Allin put their AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against The Young Bucks. It featured numerous callbacks and emotional moments for fans in attendance.

When all was said and done, Sting and Allin retained their titles and this made fans wonder what would happen to the titles. While speaking during the post-AEW Revolution media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about the status of the AEW Tag Titles.

Tony Khan confirmed that the AEW World Tag Team Championships will be vacated and that a tournament will be held soon in order to determine the new AEW Tag Team Champions.

”Sting and Darby will be the Tag Team Champions coming out of Revolution. We’re going to vacate the Tag Team Championships. So, going forward, there’ll be a tournament and we’ll have more revealed soon. ”

We will have to wait and see who will end up becoming the new AEW World Tag Team Champions, as they will be carrying on Sting’s incredible legacy after he finally retired at Revolution tonight.
