Jake Hager, formerly known as Jack Swagger during his WWE tenure, has carved a robust path in AEW since his arrival. However, he just hasn’t been used well at all lately and it appears Hager has been advised to leave AEW and get a job.
Hager had become synonymous with his iconic purple fedora hat, although he distanced himself from it some time ago. He changed that after returning to AEW television last month and assisting Orange Cassidy against Roderick Strong
During a recent episode of his Story Time podcast, Dutch Mantell expressed his views on Jake Hager’s perceived lack of momentum in AEW. Mantell suggested that Hager should consider leaving the company and “get a job.”
“The best thing [Hager] can do right now is get a job. Quit [the] promotion. Well, Samoa Joe and Hager, I don’t see anything that’s right off the bat. You got to look at chemistry, and you got to go on in. You got to take time with Jack and say I went in there with him, which I wouldn’t do because I’m not in condition enough to even get in the ring anymore.
“If you brought him back, and I think ‘We the People,’ a political gimmick would work. I think it’s a regression, but now teaming up with [Claudio].“
Jake Hager was last seen losing to Roderick Strong on the February 21 episode of Rampage. We will have to wait and see what will become of Hager in the end.
