Sting has been a part of AEW for over three years and is presently involved in a substantial storyline expected to conclude with his retirement this week. Prior to this retirement, Malakai Black decided to pay tribute to The Icon in a way only he knew how.
Sting is scheduled to have his last match on March 3rd at AEW Revolution 2024. The WWE Hall of Famer will join forces with Darby Allin to defend their AEW Tag Team Championships in a tag team tornado match against the Young Bucks.
Malakai Black took to his Instagram story and uploaded a photo of himself alongside Sting, as he paid tribute to The Icon by stating how much Sting has helped him navigate so many things.
”Sting wanting to tell a specific story with the mist and wanting to match his facepaint to Malakai’s was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in my career.”
”On a personal level Sting has helped me navigate several things and was never above lending a hand, giving advice or just generally be one of the nicest people to be around. Here’s to a fantastic career and a legacy unmatched.”
Sting will also main event the AEW Revolution pay-per-view on March 3rd. Sting also disclosed his retirement plans after his in-ring career ends as well. It remains to be seen whether The Icon will retire with his head held high in the end.
