Tony Khan’s professional wrestling company, All Elite Wrestling, relies heavily on its relationship with Warner Bros Discovery for its programming. Thus far, Khan has worked diligently to ensure Warner Bros Discovery is satisfied with AEW’s content, leading to speculation about an eventual media rights deal between the two entities.
Warner Bros Discovery has served as the proud home of AEW, airing popular shows like Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. The exclusive deal between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery even resulted in the discontinuation of AEW Dark on YouTube.
During an episode of the Mat Men Podcast, Andrew Zarian addressed speculation about Tony Khan signing a deal with Warner Bros Discovery. Zarian expressed confidence that an agreement between the two parties is imminent.
“I do feel confident that the deal is happening. I do feel confident that their library is going somewhere on MAX. I don’t feel like AEW is in danger of losing their TV. In fact, as far as I know, there are more opportunities for AEW on WBD properties… and that has to do with outside of pro wrestling as well.”
While the specifics of the deal remain undisclosed, Zarian’s comments suggest that AEW’s partnership with Warner Bros Discovery is set to expand, potentially offering new opportunities for AEW beyond pro wrestling.
As negotiations progress, it remains to be seen when AEW and Warner Bros Discovery will finalize their agreement. Nevertheless, securing a deal with Warner Bros Discovery would undoubtedly be a significant milestone for Tony Khan’s company.
