Vince McMahon is a subject of widespread debate in the history of professional wrestling, with numerous narratives often leading fans to question his decisions. In light of his recent allegations, Matt Riddle has now accused McMahon of intentionally creating chaos backstage in WWE.
On January 25th, Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a legal suit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking. It alleges that McMahon, leveraging his power and position, manipulated Grant into participating in uncomfortable acts and situations. The incidents mentioned in the lawsuit occurred between March 2019, their initial meeting, and March 2022.
During an interview with The MMA Hour, Matt Riddle talked about working under Triple H and gave the WWE Hall of Famer a ton of props for his leadership skills in the company.
“With Triple H in control, a lot more control. In the sense of things are organized. At least when I was there, if they were scheduled for this — unless something catastrophic happened, if somebody got injured or something’s not gonna work out — that’s what’s happening the next day. They write it, it’s actually happening.”
Riddle mentioned that things were “a little chaotic” under Vince McMahon. The former United States Champion then claimed that McMahon might have intentionally made things challenging to test the talent.
“With Vince, I feel like he did it on purpose. I don’t know the method but like there would be a show. You’d get a script on like Sunday and by Monday, nobody knew what they were doing. The show was being completely rewritten and stuff like that…With Vince around, it was like that probably every week. A little chaotic. I almost felt like he did that on purpose because I feel like when people know exactly what’s gonna happen and you’re doing live TV and you’re trying to get passion and that energy. You kind of get set in a pattern because you know what’s happening…”
Female WWE performers are now being questioned by various news reporters in the aftermath of Vince McMahon’s scandal. Additionally, McMahon’s future with WWE remains uncertain amid the ongoing trafficking lawsuit, and there is no clear indication of his return. The final resolution for the former Chairman of WWE is yet to be determined.
