Tama Tonga announced at Wrestle Kingdom 18 that he would leave the company in January and would subsequently drop the NEVER Openweight Championship to set things up for his next destination. He is expected to make his way to WWE and it appears the likelihood of Tonga joining The Bloodline has been revealed.
Tama Tonga’s wrestling heritage has deep roots, passed down from his father Haku. Haku’s legacy in Japan started in sumo and later transitioned to All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he adopted the names Tama Tonga, King Tonga, Haku, and Meng.
As previously reported, Tama Tonga will be joining WWE. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Tama Tonga is en route to WWE. His role is uncertain, but there’s a possibility of him joining the Bloodline storyline as he is considered family by its members.
Discussions with WWE had been ongoing a year ago, and now that Tama Tonga has finished with New Japan Pro Wrestling, his start date with WWE should be imminent.
“He’s on his way. Don’t know the role. Very likely, at some point, could be part of the Bloodline situation because he’s considered family by all those guys. So if they need somebody new, it could be him. “A year ago, he had been talking with WWE. I don’t know a start date or anything but he’s done in New Japan, so in theory he should be starting pretty soon.”
As Tama Tonga begins this new chapter with WWE, fans eagerly anticipate the impact he’ll make on the global wrestling stage. Keep an eye out for the latest updates on Tama Tonga’s transition to WWE on Ringside News as we bring you more details as they unfold.
