Since the announcement of Ole Anderson’s death at the age of 81, the wrestling world has been mourning the loss of one of the greatest minds in the industry. The founding member of the Four Horsemen faction passed away in his residence on Monday. Soon after, his family also released his obituary stating that no services would be held for the NWA Hall of Famer.
Anderson spent a major part of his wrestling career with his kayfabe brother and tag team partner, Arn Anderson. Both men are known for reforming the Minnesota Wrestling Crew and the duo soon captured the NWA Tag Team titles. However, their pairing was cut short by Ole’s retirement in 1990.
Arn Anderson has released a statement on his tag team partner’s death revisiting some of his most memorable moments with the late-great legend. The duo’s work in the Four Horsemen faction is still remembered, which Arn Anderson also mentioned in his post on X.
“Each one of us starts dying the moment we are born. Some of us live long fruitful lives, some die too soon. All I have been able to figure out in my 65 years is to treat people how you want to be treated and if they teach you anything, be grateful for that. Ole Anderson was brutally honest when it came to how he felt about life and wrestling. He gave me the rub of a lifetime, taking Gene’s spot in the Minnesota Wrecking Crew. The 4 Horsemen followed, and we know how that went. He was a mentor to me without meaning to be. I studied and will teach my son some Ole-isms. To his family and people that loved him, we grieve with you. To those who thought Ole was too ornery to die, 81 is a full life. RIP Rock”
The duo of Arn Anderson and Ole Anderson have made massive contributions to the tag team wrestling division. Though Ole Anderson has gone after living a generous life, he will never be forgotten by wrestling fans around the world.
