Kazuchika Okada officially ended his 17-year tenure with New Japan Pro Wrestling on February 1st. He also fulfilled his commitments afterwards and Okada has now confirmed that he has no intention of returning to NJPW again.

Kazuchika Okada concluded his NJPW journey with a final match at night two of NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo on February 24. He participated in a multi-man bout, securing victory by pinning Callum Newman.

After Tetsuya Naito’s successful defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against SANADA, Okada joined him in the ring, and the longtime rivals shared a moment in front of the crowd.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Okada was asked about the possibility of a rematch in the main event of a Tokyo Dome show. Okada made it clear he has no intention of going back to NJPW.

I’m already looking ahead to what’s next, and I’m going out with the intention of never coming back to New Japan. I’m sorry about that, but I don’t think so. Of course, I want to treasure the feeling and the words I received.”

It was previously reported that Kazuchika Okada is set to join AEW after he is done with his NJPW commitments. It remains to be seen how he will be booked once he is finally in AEW.
