CM Punk’s triceps injury at the Royal Rumble raises doubts about his WrestleMania 40 appearance. Unfortunately, Punk won’t be able to compete, as he is currently recovering post-surgery. He had to miss out on Elimination Chamber because of his and Punk admitted he’s had a rough day mentally following his absence from the event.
The much-anticipated Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in Perth, Australia had a lot of things going for it. This included Drew McIntyre winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber bout, something that CM Punk is definitely not happy about.
CM Punk was initially promoted to make an appearance at the WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, but his injury led to a change in plans. The Second City Saint took to his Instagram story and commented on his absence from the Elimination Chamber event.
CM Punk admitted that it was a very rough day for him mentally, adding that it was difficult for him to stay positive but he told fans to enjoy the show despite his absence.
“Had a rough day mentally today. My heart and spirit are in Perth. Just a hard day staying positive and nobody wishes I was there performing for the fans more than me. Enjoy the show, appreciate you all.”
CM Punk is expected to be out of action for around 6-8 months after his surgery. We will have to wait and see how The Second City Saint will be booked once he makes his triumphant return to WWE television, as it is likely he will have a score to settle with Drew McIntyre upon his comeback.
