It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! AEW Dynamite will go down tonight and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the February 21, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Lineup (2/21/2024):

AEW Dynamite Results (2/21/2024):

The show opens up with Blackpool Combat Club making their way down to the ring for the first match of the night. FTR then makes their way down to the ring next for the opening matchup.

Tag Team Match: Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

The match starts off with Cash Wheeler immediately taking Jon Moxley down and that fires Moxley up. Moxley then delivers his knee into Wheeler and Claudio Castagnoli tags in and delivers several uppercuts on Wheeler. Wheeler then answers back by going after the knee of Castagnoli and Dax Harwood tags in and delivers several chops. Moxley then tags back into the match, but Harwood immediately hits Moxley with a back body drop, then tags Wheeler back in as they double team Moxley.

Moxley then goes for a sleeper hold on Wheeler, but Wheeler reverses it and sends Moxley to the outside of the ring and the two men start headbutting each other before nailing huge forearm strikes. FTR then hit double team the BCC and sending both Moxley and Castagnoli to the floor.

The brawl then continues outside of the ring and Moxley hits a suicide dive on Harwood, but is suddenly sent head-first into the steel stairs by Wheeler. FTR then continue to double team Moxley with frequent tags and they hit a double catapult on Moxley that sends him into the bottom rope. Castagnoli then makes the tag and begins dominating Harwood with his uppercuts and Castagnoli then lifts both BCC members and drops them down. BCC then work together to hit a spiked piledriver outside the ring and Castagnoli jumps from the barricade to put Harwood down.

Harwood and Moxley then exchange strikes and Moxley gets the advantage after Castagnoli provides some help. Castagnoli then stops Harwood from tagging out, but is sent to the ring post. Both men then tag out and Wheeler blasts Moxley with an uppercut, then he takes out Castagnoli as well. Wheeler then hits a brainbuster on Moxley, but Moxley kicks out and Harwood comes back in and Castagnoli stops the Shatter Machine.

Moxley then begins brawling with both Wheeler and Harwood, but is then hit with a Doomsday Device yet he still manages to kick out. Castagnoli then comes in to help Moxley out, but he takes too long and Harwood sends Castagnoli out. Harwood then hits a superplex on Moxley and as Wheeler goes for a Frog Splash. Moxley’s knees are up. Castagnoli then hits a Giant Swing and Moxley ends that move with a dropkick, but Harwood kicks out.

Moxley then locks in a submission on Harwood, but Castagnoli stops that with a submission of his own. Harwood then locks in the Sharpshooter and Castagnoli tries to break it up, but Wheeler suplexes him. Castagnoli then lock in a Sharpshooter on Wheeler and he and Harwood start slapping each other. Moxley then hits a piledriver, but Harwood kicks out. FTR then fights back and almost hits a Shatter Machine, but the bell rings and the match is over.

The match ends in a time-limit draw.

After the match, all four men continue to brawl until the locker room spills out to break it up.

We then head backstage, where Renee Paquette is interviewing AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy. Paquette starts off by talking about how busy Cassidy has been. It is then announced that Cassidy is medically cleared, but just barely. Cassidy says as long as he is cleared, he is wrestling and walks off.

Alex Marvez is then backstage with FTR, who says that if they had a few more seconds they would have defeated the BCC tonight. Harwood then says BCC thinks they run the place and everyone bows down to them. Harwood also says they don’t bow down to anyone and suggests a fight for them at AEW Revolution. Moxley and Castagnoli then show up as security holds them back.

We then get the entrances for the next match, which is an AEW International Championship Match.

AEW International Championship Match: “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy (c) vs. ROH World Tag Team Champion The Undisputed Kingdom’s Mike Bennett

The match starts off with Orange Cassidy attacking Mike Bennett from behind as Bennett makes his way down to the ring. Cassidy then hits Matt Taven with an Orange Punch. Cassidy then brawls with Bennett back to the ring and hits his slow kicks in the corner. The official then pulls Cassidy off and that leads to Bennett hitting a big forearm strike on Cassidy and Bennett follows that up with several chops.

Cassidy then hits Bennett with a Stundog Millionaire and Roderick Strong makes his way down to the ring, but the officials come out and send him to the back. Bennett then hits a low blow on Cassidy and a Piledriver, but Cassidy still kicks out. Bennett then sends Cassidy to the barricade, but Cassidy answers back by sending Bennett into the stairs and Bennett responds with a thrust kick.

Bennett then hits an Irish whip on Cassidy and that sends Cassidy over the top turnbuckle and to the floor. Bennett then talks trash to commentary and then hits a Death Valley Driver, but Cassidy hits Bennett with an Orange Punch. Bennett then hits a Piledriver on Cassidy and follows that up with several elbow strikes, but Cassidy hits Beach Break and scores the win.

After the match, Matt Taven and Roderick Strong make their way down to the ring and attack Cassidy until Jake Hager makes his way down to the ring to make the save.

We then head backstage, where we see that Angelo Parker and Ruby Soho are getting ready to head out for their date. A car then pulls up and “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is shown walking out of the car and towards the arena.

We then see Ric Flair still walking in the backstage area until Renee Paquette stops him for an interview. Flair talks about having options as he approaches the locker room of The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson). The three then enter the office for what seems to be a meeting.

Daniel Garcia then makes his way down to the ring to address the AEW fans.

Tony Schiavone is standing in the middle of the ring and he introduces Daniel Garcia. Schiavone mentions Garcia’s match with Adam Copeland and how Copeland was attacked and can’t challenge for the TNT Championship. Schiavone then informs Garcia that he will be the one to challenge Christian Cage for the TNT title at Revolution. The fans then chant “You deserve it!” as Garcia thanks them and says sometimes he doesn’t feel he does, but right now he feels he truly does.

Christian Cage’s music hits and Cage makes his way out. Cage tells the fans to shut up while he conducts his business. Cage then tells Garcia that he isn’t ready for a shot at Cage’s title, so he doesn’t think it should happen at AEW Revolution. Cage also says he likes Garcia’s dance moves and gyrations as much as the next guy.

Cage then brings up Garcia not having a great childhood. Cage also brings up Jackie Garcia and David Garcia. Cage then mentions David being Daniel’s father. Cage then says Daniel’s father is dead. Cage then says Daniel’s father was a piece of crap and a loser. Cage also says he can be Daniel’s father. Garcia then challenges Cage to come down to the ring so he can bury him right next to his dead father.

Nick Wayne then looks at Cage. Nick Wayne then takes his jacket off and walks to the ring in a t-shirt that reads, “Christian Cage is my father.” Wayne then heads to the ring, but Garcia takes him out. Killswitch then goes to help, but “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard runs out with a chair and blasts Killswitch with it. The Patriarchy then backs off as Garcia’s theme plays.

We then head backstage, where Renee Paquette is with “Hangman” Adam Page, FTW Champion HOOK and RVD. Page says tonight is full of opportunities and for his partners to get revenge for their losses.

We then get the entrances for the next match, which is a Singles Match featuring the AEW Women’s World Champion.

Singles Match: AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Sydni Winnell

The match starts off with Toni Storm immediately attacking Sydni Winnell, then hits Winnell with a running bulldog. Winnell is then sent to the corner and gets hits with a hip attack and a piledriver. Storm then locks in an Ankle Lock, but stops and instead uses Deonna Purrazzo’s finisher to win the match via submission.

We then get the entrances of the next match as Storm was still celebrating in the ring and that match is “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne.

Singles Match: “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne

The match starts off with Deonna Purrazzo and Madison Rayne shaking hands and the two go back and forth with some mat wrestling. Rayne then takes control of the match, but Purrazzo avoids an attack and hits Rayne with a sliding dropkick. The two women then fight outside the ring, with Rayne slamming Purrazzo into the steel stairs.

Rayne then locks in a submission move on Purrazzo. Rayne then hits an enziguiri on Purrazzo, but both women have the same idea and collide in the ring. Both women then exchange forearms and elbow strikes as Purrazzo puts Rayne down. The official and doctor have to step in and check in on Rayne, but Purrazzo takes the advantage and quickly gets a submission win.

The winner of the Singles Match, “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo!

After the match, Storm tries to attack Purrazzo, but gets dropped. Mariah May then provides a distraction and that allows Storm to lock in the Break A Leg submission on Purrazzo.

We then get a video package, where some photographs of Sting and his sons are shown. Allin says Sting’s flesh and blood and family is all that matters. Sting then says that is all that matters and it strikes a nerve because nobody has ever messed with his flesh and blood until now. Sting then reveals his father passed away a week ago, adding that he is a hero to him.

Sting then says it makes him think of his own mortality as he used to feel invincible, but time catches up with everyone and it caught up to him. Sting then says he knows he is not invincible, but he is bringing everything he has left with him to Revolution and The Young Bucks have a fight on their hands.

Wardlow then makes his way down to the ring to address the AEW fans.

Wardlow starts off by telling Tony Schiavone to get out of the ring before he knocks him on his old ass again. Wardlow says two years ago, thousands of people were chanting his name in a matter that hasn’t been heard or seen in decades. Wardlow then says apparently the rocket strapped to his back was put on upside down as he has been screwed time after time again. Wardlow then says you’d think the one home grown mega start would have been champion a long time ago, but he’s never received a World Title shot, something people in the back should be thrown in jail for. Wardlow then brought up the “Best in the World” and “Real World Champion” whose body is still falling apart because of him. Wardlow then brought up how he squashed MJF like no one else has. Wardlow then mentions choking Samoa Joe out and how suits and shiny titles look better on him than Joe. Wardlow then says he is the uncrowned king of AEW and it’s time he starts eating like one as he is everything a World Champion is supposed to be. Wardlow then says if anyone wants to get in his way, this is no longer wrestling, this is war.

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang then cut a promo following their 12-Man Tag Team Match victory on Rampage last week. Daddy Ass apologizes running into “Switchblade” Jay White during the match as White says i is fine and suggest he, Austin Gunn and Daddy Ass are the Collision Cowboys this Saturday. Anthony Bowens then says it doesn’t matter the combo, everyone loves The Acclaimed, Bang Bang.

It is announced that Will Ospreay will be on AEW Dynamite next week.

We then head backstage, where Renee Paquette is with the Don Callis Family, asking Callis if he has given any more thoughts on how the match between Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita will affect the Family after Revolution. Callis says that it will help them big time, as win or lose, the best wrestlers in the world will still be part of the Family. Callis then says he is on his way to the UK to pick up Ospreay himself to bring him to Revolution. Callis then calls Sammy Guevara a fly in the ointment and a little cuck who Meat Madness Powerhouse Hobbs and himself will deal with on Rampage.

We then get the entrances for the main event, which is a Trios Match.

Trios Match: AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and “The Machine” Brian Cage vs. FTW Champion HOOK, “Hangman” Adam Page and RVD

The match starts off with HOOK and Samoa Joe and the AEW World Champion dominates HOOK with his power by slamming the FTW Champion face first to the mat. HOOK then delivers several punches to Joe and then takes Joe off his feet, but Joe fires back with several body shots on HOOK. Brian Cage then tags in and isolates HOOK from his corner with several lariats, but HOOK escapes and tags in RVD who instantly brings Cage down with his kicks.

RVD then looks for a monkey flip, but Cage blocks it and tags in Swerve Strickland who works with Cage with some double-team action. Hangman then makes a blind tag and goes face-to-face with Strickland as they start brawling until HOOK and Cage break it up and then they both tag in. HOOK then hits Cage with several elbow strikes, but Cage turns it around and brings Strickland back in. Strickland then quickly tags Joe back in and he delivers a huge chop to the back of HOOK before following that up with a flashing elbow.

Cage then tags in and hits a delayed vertical suplex, but RVD tags himself back in and starts unloading strikes on the opposition. RVD then hits Strickland with the Rolling Thunder. RVD then hits a Five Star Frog Splash on Cage, but Joe breaks up the pinfall attempt.

Strickland then hits Page with a high boot and attacks RVD. Joe then comes in and charges RVD in the corner, following it up with a kick, but RVD kicks out. RVD then tries to get back into this match, but Joe drags him back down to the mat. Strickland then comes in and starts attacking RVD in the corner. Cage then nails RVD with a release German suplex and Joe comes back in, but RVD answers back by catching him with a kick.

Page then tags back in and immediately jumps on everyone he sees. Cage is then able to catch Page’s attempt to hit a diving crossbody, then he hits a Death Valley Driver on Page. Everyone then takes each other out with a chain of finishing moves until Page goes for his Buckshot Lariat finisher. Page then focuses on Strickland and he and Cage head to the top rope as Cage suplexes him while HOOK attacks Cage at the same time.

HOOK then locks in the Red Rum, but that doesn’t get the win. Page then powerbombs Strickland through the announce table, but he misses with his Buckshot Lariat finisher on Joe, who responds with a scoop slam. Joe is then with HOOK and RVD as HOOK suplexes Joe, but Cage pushes RVD before he can attack the champion. Joe then locks in his Coquina Clutch finisher on RVD and secures the win.

The winners of the Trios Match, AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage!

After the match, Samoa Joe holds up his AEW World Title, with Strickland looking on with Prince Nana. Hangman Page then tells the camera man not to shoot him as he clinches his ankle and the some comes to a close.
