Mexico’s El Hijo del Vikingo has become one of the most talked-about names in pro wrestling recently, but he ended up suffering a knee injury recently. Fans have wondered if he will require knee surgery for the same and the probability of Vikingo going under the knife has been revealed.

On February 17, 2024, Vikingo joined forces with Psycho Clown and Wotan at AULL Rencor Extremo but suffered a defeat against Negocio Traumado. The match was halted after Vikingo suffered an injury to his right knee.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, it was reported that the AAA Mega Champion suffered a torn meniscus. Meltzer noted that Vikingo may not require surgery but will be out of action while rehabbing.

“It looks like El Hijo del Vikingo may not need surgery for a torn meniscus. If he doesn’t have surgery he will still be out of action for a while rehabbing. If he needs surgery that will lengthen the time for his return.”

Vikingo’s most recent appearance for AEW was on the January 24 episode of Rampage, where he participated in the AEW International Championship Number 1 Contendership Freshly Squeezed Four Way match. Only time will tell whether El Hijo Del Vikingo will be able to make his in-ring return sooner rather than later, as the injury is a big blow to the young Mexican star.
