Matt Cardona has emerged into a self-centered, arrogant, and hardcore wrestler becoming the Indy God in the process. His recent antics led him to take a jab at WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley and his past gimmicks.
The former WWE United States champion took to his X to reveal his new t-shirt that displayed his three avatars, Indy God, Deathmatch King, and his former WWE persona, Zack Ryder.
However, Matt revealed the brand-new merchandise as a way to mock the hardcore legend Mick Foley and his iconic, 3 Faces of Foley, a reference used to address his three gimmicks in WWE.
“3 Faces of Cardona > 3 Faces of Foley.”
The 3 Faces of Foley represented Mick Foley’s three different personas in the global juggernaut back in the 1990s. There were Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack with each of them being completely different from each other.
Despite that, all three personas had one thing in common, resilience and willingness to go to greater lengths inside the squared circle. Moreover, Foley entered the 1998 Royal Rumble match under all of his three gimmicks at different numbers.
With so much history attached to Mick Foley and his characters, it could be seen as a way for Matt Cardona to enhance his own career and legacy at the expense of the former WWE champion.
Do you think the 3 Faces of Cardona is indeed greater than the 3 Faces of Foley as Matt pointed out? Sound off in the comments!
