CM Punk has had only one ambition ever since he stepped inside a wrestling ring, to be in the main event of the biggest show in the history of the sport, WrestleMania. Following his return to WWE last November, many believed that it was now only a matter of time before he finally achieved it.
However, he found himself on the injured list at the very start of the road to WrestleMania 40. Punk entered the 2024 Royal Rumble event and suffered a triceps injury that ruled him out of The Show of Shows this year.
Despite suffering a major roadblock in his quest for glory, CM Punk has now shifted his focus on rehabbing his triceps and getting back inside the ring at the earliest.
Moreover, it has been nearly three weeks since the Best in the World underwent surgery, and has been attending constant rehab sessions to heal up his injury and begin his road to the top of the mountain again.
He recently took to his Instagram stories to upload a picture of his injured triceps being stitched up with the spot being red, possibly indicating the seriousness of the injury. The following story showed Punk doing lightweight dumbells as a part of his rehab sessions.
With CM Punk confirmed to not compete at WrestleMania 40, it would be interesting to see if WWE could find another way to creatively insert him in the Mania plans and make his presence felt at their premier show in Philidelphia coming soon.
When do you think that CM Punk can return to in-ring action? Will he be back before his scheduled timeline? Sound off in the comments!
