AEW fulfilled its commitment to a surprise signing at Full Gear 2023, revealing none other than Will Ospreay. He is also done with NJPW after New Begining in Osaka last week. Ospreay also had his last-ever indie match at RevPro recently and finally, Ospreay shared his first comments after the fact.
During RevPro’s High Stakes event, Will Ospreay squared off against Michael Oku in what marked his final match in the independent circuit, as he will now be a full-time AEW star going forward.
After a 40+ minute epic encounter, Will Ospreay put over Michael Oku and passed the torch to the young talent. The Aerial Assassin took to Twitter and shared a heartfelt message to fans, making it clear he couldn’t have asked for a better exit from the Indies.
”I couldn’t have asked for a better exit from the indies.”
”2K in attendance, my parents, my mrs, my best friend & my new boss.”
”@TheOJMO you have my respect. You took me to the longest one on one match of my career & came out on top.”
”Thank you Brit Wres 🇬🇧”
‘I’m on my way.”
Konosuke Takeshita will be squaring off against Will Ospreay at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view, which will be his first bout as a full-time AEW star. We’ll have to see how the Aerial Assasin will perform in the highly anticipated bout.
