CM Punk’s time in the UFC brought a lot of attention to whatever he did in the Octagon. It was ultimately a failed run, but CM Punk has made it clear he is not embarrassed about his UFC run at all.

CM Punk suffered his first professional MMA defeat at UFC 203 in 2016 against Mickey Gall, who secured a first-round submission victory. In his second bout at UFC 225 in June 2018, Punk lost to Mike Jackson by decision.

Nevertheless, this loss was later overturned to a no-contest as Jackson tested positive for marijuana on fight night, leading to the win being stripped from him.

While speaking during a conversation with Aaron Bronsteter at the event, CM Punk was asked about his return to WWE last November. In the same conversation, Punk made it clear he had no regrets about competing in the UFC.

“Time. I think time is everything. Saying never, you learn real fast, it’s not just this business or the wrestling business, or any business. It’s life. You never say never. Who ever thought I would fight in the UFC? I was afforded an opportunity by Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Dana (White) and I would be kicking myself to this day if I said ‘no’.

“I’m not a guy that lives with regret, like I will seize opportunities whether someone on the internet thinks I deserve them or not. I work hard for my dreams, and I will always chase them. I think a lot of clouds parted, and time heals all wounds, so when it came back to wrestling, it was just the right time.”

Seth Rollins also believes he would fare better in the UFC than CM Punk. Nevertheless, Punk is more focused on recovering from his triceps injury, making it clear he is not a man weighed down by regrets.
