Zelina Vega has proved her worth time and time again as one of the most captivating WWE superstars of this generation. However, for one reason or another, luck has not been on her side for quite some time.
La Muneca had the opportunity to qualify for the upcoming Women’s Elimination Chamber match, taking place in Perth, Australia at the name-sake WWE PLE this week on SmackDown.
Zelina went up against the newest SmackDown signee, Tiffany Stratton, and came close to clinching the victory. However, a timely distraction from Electra Lopez and her Legado Del Fantasma clan cost Zelina the match and gave Tiffany the coveted spot in the chamber match.
In a post-SmackDown exclusive on WWE’s social media, Zelina Vega vented out her frustrations about constantly being denied opportunities despite proving her caliber on multiple occasions. She concluded by declaring that she was coming after her former cohort, Santos Escobar, and his faction by going back to her old roots.
“I almost won the match. I almost won that match. I have been trying and trying to get my hands on the title since Backlash, since Rio at Backlash and I was this close to getting a chance to go into chamber to do exactly that. If it wasn’t for Elektra putting herself in my business, I would have had that spot that would have been mine.“
“I don’t know how much I have to prove to people, how much more that I have to prove to people that I deserve this, that I deserve to be a champion, I deserve to go to WrestleMania. No, no, no, no, now I’m setting my sights on Legado, Santos is the one who’s going to regret sticking her nose in my business. This is all your fault, Santos. Remember who I was before LWO. Remember why you came to me in the first place. Because I promise you, I’m gonna go right back to that.”
Before being a part of the LWO, Zelina Vega was the smart and cocky superstar who got the job done at all costs and led many of her clients to success. With Vega teasing to go back to her older self, it would be interesting to see what happens next. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we follow up on this story.
