Nic Nemeth was released from WWE in September, and he patiently waited for the right moment to make a move. That moment arrived in 2024 when he appeared consecutively in both NJPW and TNA. Nemeth had also tried to leave WWE many times in the past but was denied every time.
Nic Nemeth is often considered one of the most underrated talents in WWE history. Despite securing multiple World Titles and various other championships, he was frequently perceived as not being booked to the best of his abilities.
While speaking with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, the former WWE World Champion revealed that he had reached a point where he was prepared to leave WWE and had requested his release on multiple occasions.
However, WWE was unwilling to let him go, stating that he was under contract. Despite this, Nemeth made it clear he wanted to explore other avenues and asked if he could start something new while being with the company.
“I started realizing, OK I’m a mainstay here, I’m needed. But I got to a point where I was ready to go. I’d asked the company a few different times whether I was ready to go, and they told me I was signed, and they weren’t letting me go. So I started asking them, ‘Hey, can I start doing this, can I start something else’. So I was prepared to be done and to start exploring other avenues.”
Nic Nemeth isn’t interested in a WWE return either. Nemeth is already keeping busy with upcoming dates in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Only time will reveal whether he will secure a championship in either TNA or NJPW.
