Despite being a major name in pro wrestling, Kota Ibushi got tons of criticism for his performances in the past year. He was part of one of the worst matches in NOAH history at the beginning of the year, which ultimately led to surgery. In light of this, the timeline for his recovery post-surgery has now been revealed.

In the main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s ‘The New Year 2024,’ Naomichi Marufuji and Kota Ibushi duked it out. Ibushi ultimately shattered one of his ankles during the match but managed to finish the bout.

Kota Ibushi’s extensive injuries post-match were disclosed, and he underwent ankle surgery for torn ligaments. He also mentioned the possibility of needing additional surgeries.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was revealed that Kota Ibushi is expected to be out of action anywhere between six to twelve months following ankle surgery.
