QT Marshall, who had been with AEW since its inception, departed from the promotion after his contract expired. However, Marshall is poised to make a return to the company, and details about his responsibilities have now been revealed.

In case you missed it, QT Marshall publicly announced his resignation from AEW via a social media post. Additionally, a current AEW star expressed the opinion that Marshall’s departing the company was a significant loss for the talent.

AEW President Tony Khan spoke highly of QT Marshall, emphasizing that the door is always open for his return to the company. Marshall decided to take Khan up on his offer after fixing some issues between them, as he will be returning to AEW again but not as an in-ring talent.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about QT Marshall returning to AEW. Meltzer noted that QT Marshall will be part of talent development as well as a trainer in AEW.

”I don’t know if he’s back yet, but he’s gonna be starting back. “Rocky Romero’s role is gonna be talent development, so essentially training wrestlers and working with the younger talent, and also international liaison obviously with New Japan and CMLL.”

“And QT, his key role is going to be talent development as well. Trainer and everything like that. He left (on) December 31 and Tony Khan said, if he wants to come back, the door’s open, and I guess he wanted to come back.”

“I know that the idea was he wanted to make it as a main event wrestler. He worked a bunch of indies, but he can still work those indies if he’s coming back for that job. So, starting up soon.”

The timing of QT Marshall’s return to AEW remains uncertain. Nevertheless, Tony Khan will definitely be happy about having Marshall back, especially given the ongoing changes within AEW this year. We’ll have to wait and see when the return will take place.
