Kota Ibushi, despite being a beloved figure in pro wrestling, has faced criticism for his performances in the past year. He was involved in one of the worst matches in NOAH history at the beginning of the year, leading to surgery. Ibushi recently revealed stitches from ankle surgery.
In the main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s ‘The New Year 2024,’ Naomichi Marufuji and Kota Ibushi had a singles match lasting over 30 minutes. However, the match faced backlash on social media, with fans expressing concern about Ibushi appearing to wrestle with injuries. The situation worsened as Ibushi was swiftly taken to the hospital after the match due to breaking his ankles.
Kota Ibushi’s extensive injuries after the match were also revealed and he underwent ankle surgery after torn ligaments there. He also noted how he might need additional surgeries as well.
Ibushi previously showed off doing an insane workout after surgery. Ibushi took to his Instagram today and uploaded a photo of his stiched-up foot, following his ankle surgery. Ibushi stated that he will try to make sure he doesn’t have to take a year off from in-ring action.
”That’s right, that’s right! Doing fine.”
”I never want to take a year off. I’m sure it’ll fix it.”
Kota Ibushi has the potential to be a key player for Tony Khan if he can stay healthy. Unfortunately, this potential is not realized as he is expected to miss a significant portion of 2024 due to injuries. Fans remain hopeful for a positive update on Kota Ibushi’s condition in the future.
