WWE has been shaking things up on the road to WrestleMania 40, bringing in changes and altering the entire landscape. One change already witnessed was the switch in commentary booths and now some backstage personnel have also seemingly moved their foreground.
As noticed recently, the RAW announcer team has the dynamic duo of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee and SmackDown action is called by Corey Graves and Wade Barrett.
Moreover, the broadcast team at WWE NXT has seen Vic Joseph and Booker T for a long time, until the 5-time WCW champion took a leave of absence due to a medical procedure with Byron Saxton filling in for him.
However, it seems Saxton’s main event position has been altered for some reason as well. Firstly, in regards to backstage interviewing duties, he was shifted to SmackDown while Cathy Kelly moved to RAW as seen in the last few weeks.
Moreover, that shift might have been cause for Byron possibly losing his role as the commentator for WWE Main Event, taped before Monday Night RAW. For two weeks straight, the action for the show has been called by Blake Howard and Road Dogg.
With the change looking to be permanent, we will have to wait and see what’s next for Byron Saxton as he would now try and find his footing on WWE’s main roster apart from NXT.
Do you think Byron should shift his focus only on NXT commentary? or should he continue to work on the main roster in some capacity? Sound off in the comments!
