The crossovers between professional wrestling and other sports have become evident at major sporting events. The latest one happened at a football ground where a top-level soccer player paid homage to a star and got a response from that side.
As mentioned, Tottenham Hotspur’s Brennan Johnson scored a fantastic goal in his team’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion in the 96th minute. The killer finishing led Spurs to a 2-1 win in the match.
Brennan’s goal celebration became the subject of discussion as it resembled the hand signature done by Jeff Hardy, more commonly known as The Hardy Boyz with his brother Matt in professional wrestling.
Moreover, he even confirmed that it was a genuine tribute to the Charismatic Enigma. Recently, a user on X titled the collage of Brennan Johnson and The Hardys as the ‘crossover we never knew we needed.’ That prompted Matt Hardy to take to his X and respond with a befitting reply.
“But the crossover we deserved 😎🤩👍🏼.”
Matt and Jeff Hardy are currently signed to AEW and are majorly seen competing on their second show, Rampage. With their long-standing careers still going strong, we will have to wait and see just how long the two most extreme wrestling stars in history can go inside the squared circle.
Do you think the time is nearing for The Hardy Boyz to take the final bow in the ring? Sound off in the comments!
