Kazuchika Okada officially ended his 17-year tenure with New Japan Pro Wrestling on February 1st. He still had a few matches to compete in afterwards, as a sign of respect for NJPW and now the company has announced his last two matches for the promotion.
Kazuchika Okada is gearing up to conclude his time in NJPW, preparing to leave the promotion and transition to the next phase of his successful career in the United States. Following his commitments with NJPW, Okada is set to join AEW, but the exact date of his debut with AEW is still unknown.
NJPW announced Kazuchika Okada’s last two matches at the New Beginning in Sapporo events on February 23 and 24. In the first show, Okada, along with Ishii, Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, and YOH, faces Cobb, Great-O-Khan, Henare, Akira, and Newman.
The next night, Okada teams up with Tanahashi, Ishii, Goto, and YOSHI-HASHI against Matt Riddle, Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan, Henare, and Akira.
The Rainmaker also defeated his longstanding rival Hiroshi Tanahashi at the New Beginning in Osaka event last week. We will have to wait and see how Okada will fare in his final two matches with the promotion.
