The Way comprised Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, Austin Theory and Dexter Lumis and they had a solid run in NXT a couple of years ago. After repeated teases for a long time, they finally had a reunion last year but rarely appeared after that. This is especially true for Lumis, who remains absent from WWE television Now, he dropped a cryptic post before SmackDown this week.
Dexter Lumis was one of the WWE Superstars that Triple H brought back to television after he took over as Chief Content Officer. He had a brief feud with The Miz but nothing much after that.
Dexter Lumis’ most recent WWE match took place against Akira Tozawa in May 2023. Additionally, his last televised match occurred in the No. 1 Contenders Battle Royal, which was won by former WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali, on RAW that same month.
Dexter Lumis recently posted a cryptic and inspirational message on his Instagram Stories ahead of the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
“Doing what you love is ultra important. But don’t pat yourself on the back too hard for it. Results come best from doing what you MUST, not what you WANT. Champions often WANT to do what they MUST. If you can align those two by studying what’s optimal in your case and learning to love it, you have an edge.”
Dexter Lumis is still being paid by WWE during his hiatus and there’s no telling when he will make his WWE television return. We’ll have to see when he will be able to make his comeback.
