The dynamic and masked duo of Darby Allin and his legendary ally, Sting captured their first gold as a team at this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. However, just 24 hours later, it seems they already have a challenge before their upcoming high-stakes title match.
Sting and Darby Allin took on Big Bill and Ricky Starks on Dynamite in a highly enthralling and action-packed bout that went all over the arena and some astonishing spots including Sting diving off the balcony.
The match ended with Sting connecting with the Scorpion Death Drop on Starks to win the bout and he and Allin became the new AEW World tag team champions. But it looks like they have just been challenged to a match.
One-half of the popular AEW tag team, The Gunns, Colten Gunn took to his X to post a picture of himself and his brother Austin with the tag team championships a year ago. He noted that their anniversary of winning the titles was coming up and included Sting and Darby in the conversation, hinting towards another shot at the gold.
“heard it’s our one year anniversary of winning the tag titles…@Sting @DarbyAllin what’s up.”
Amidst this cryptic challenge, Sting and Darby Allin already have a bout scheduled with their titles on the line. They are set to battle The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution in March 2024, which will be the sight of Sting’s retirement match as well.
