The Royal Rumble Premium Live Event kicked off with the highly anticipated Women’s Royal Rumble match, where Jordynne Grace made her WWE debut as the 5th entrant. This was truly the beginning of a relationship with WWE and TNA but it might have ended before it properly started. In fact, Scott D’Amoer was heavily involved in forging the relationship between the two companies.
As previously reported, Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc. took a major step in the realm of professional wrestling by naming Anthony Cicione as the President of TNA Wrestling, thereby effectively firing Scott D’Amore as President of TNA – a role he performed to the best of his abilities for years.
PWInsider reported that Scott D’Amore was significantly involved in establishing a potential relationship between TNA and WWE. The extent and continuation of this development remain uncertain.
If TNA aims to foster connections with Paul Levesque and other WWE personnel, they may need to appoint someone else to continue building that rapport.
”The belief is that Scott D’Amore was heavily involved with building the potential relationship between the two sides. If and how it continues to develop remains to be seen but TNA will have to tap someone else to continue to build that rapport with Paul Levesque and the rest of WWE.”
It was already reported that WWE and TNA’s relationship hadn’t progressed after the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The possible reason for Scott D’Amore’s termination was also revealed.
Scott D’Amore was the heart and soul of TNA, who was truly passionate about the promotion. It remains to be seen what will become of TNA Wrestling under the leadership of Anthony Cicione.
