TNA Wrestling’s Hard to Kill event marked a massive turning point for the promotion, ushering in the start of a new era as momentum continues to go strong every week. Scott D’Amore led the charge as TNA President but he has now been removed from that position. Now it appears the likely reason for his removal has been revealed.
As previously reported, Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc. took a major step in the realm of professional wrestling by naming Anthony Cicione as the President of TNA Wrestling, thereby effectively removing Scott D’Amore as President of TNA – a role he excelled at for years.
According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, talent and staff were notified of the decision today, with some learning about it this morning. Currently, staff and talent are engaged in a Zoom call to discuss the move.
One talent expressed the belief that Anthem desires the brand to be more closely connected with them rather than D’Amore. When asked about this, another individual acknowledged the perspective.
”One talent said they believed Anthem wanted the brand to be more closely associated with them as opposed to D’Amore, and when we asked another about that they said “I can see that, but he saved TNA.”
Scott D’Amore was the heart of soul of TNA, who was truly passionate about the promotion. We will have to wait and see what will become of TNA Wrestling under the leadership of Anthony Cicione.
