The rivalry between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland has been going on for several months. Things got personal and heated between them when Swerve broke into Page’s house.
Just when it thought that their rivalry ended with that brutal Texas Deathmatch, they are back at it again. Page and Strickland started the year strong by winning consecutive matches. Hence, they both feel they deserve an AEW World Title shot.
Hence, a number one contender’s match was announced between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland for tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite where the winner will face Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution.
The show kicked off with this match between Page and Swerve. As expected, the animosity between both men was on display throughout the match. There were plenty of good spots too. At one point Swerve even hit the buckshot lariat on Page and followed it with the Swerve stomp but still couldn’t get the win.
Both men hit their best shot but it still wasn’t enough to end the match. In the end, Swerve hit his JML driver and went for the pin but the time ran out. Swerve then got on the mic and asked Hangman Page for five more minutes but Page denied him and tried to walk away. But Tony Schiavone stopped him and informed them that there would be a triple-threat match for the AEW World Championship.
With this draw, Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page will now get their much-deserved title match against Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution. Stay tuned to Ringside News for live coverage of AEW Dynamite.
