Cody Rhodes was originally slated to headline WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns after winning the Royal Rumble, but that’s not happening anymore as The Rock will square off against Roman Reigns instead.
‘We Want Cody’ signs were prominently displayed during the February 5th WWE RAW episode, signaling that fans are vocal about their desire to see Cody Rhodes in the main event spotlight. Reports suggested that these signs were circulated among fans in attendance.
According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was noted that there is no indication that WWE was responsible for distributing the ‘We Want Cody’ signs at RAW.
It was noted that numerous fans in attendance mentioned that they personally printed and brought the signs to the show, with timestamped evidence from before the broadcast.
”Regarding the signs at WWE Raw, we’ve not heard from anyone within the company that WWE were handing those out. Fightful did hear from numerous fans in attendance that physically printed the signs themselves and brought them to the show, with timestamped evidence from before the broadcast.”
WWE’s intentions for The Rock taking away Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 spot has also been revealed. WWE also went the extra mile to keep The Rock’s plans under wraps. We’ll have to see how WWE will book Cody Rhodes in the coming weeks.
