WWE Releases New Cody Rhodes Merchandise Amid Controversy With The Rock

Cody Rhodes was originally slated to headline WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns after winning the Royal Rumble. However, WWE essentially replaced him with The Rock and this caused a lot of controversy. Amid all that controversy, WWE has now released new merchandise for The American Nightmare.

Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown ended with tension as The Rock confronted Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes introduced The Great One into the scene, as he gave up his WrestleMania 40 title shot, causing outrage among fans.

This led to fans rallying for The Rock to give Cody Rhodes his WrestleMania 40 spot back as well. WWE also edited out Cody Rhodes’ sad reaction during his segment with The Rock on Friday Night SmackDown last week.

WWE has now released new merchandise for Cody Rhodes, which features his beloved dog Pharaoh. It is more or less guaranteed that the shirt will fly off the shelves very soon as well.

WWE’s intentions for The Rock taking away Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 spot has also been revealed. Only time will tell what will become of The American Nightmare in the end.
