WWE hosted NXT Vengeance Day on Sunday night. In a crucial match, two top superstars were involved in potentially life-threatening botches that could have resulted in disaster. Now we have updates on their health following the Premium Live Event.
NXT Vengeance Day kicked off with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, as Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams teamed up to face Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin.
In the middle of the match, the top rope on one side of the ring appeared unusually slippery. Breakker attempted to break out of a headlock from Hayes, seeking momentum by using the ropes. However, the slippery top rope caused an unexpected mishap, with Breakker’s head getting caught between the ropes.
Later in the match, Carmelo Hayes showcased his athleticism, avoiding a potential injury. As he climbed the top rope to execute a dive, the slippery nature of the rope once again posed a threat, almost giving way under his feet during the move.
Corey Brennan behind Fightful’s paywall provided an update on the two botches, noting that the superstars involved, Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes, came out of the Dusty Rhodes Classic final “a little banged up.”
“During the Dusty Rhodes Classic final, rope tightness was questioned after two scary spots involving Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. It was said all involved in the match came out if it a ‘little banged up.'”
Fortunately, none of the WWE Superstars sustained any serious injuries during the incidents. Bron Breakker persevered, leading his team to pick up the huge win. On the other hand, Carmelo Hayes made a shocking move towards the end of the NXT Vengeance Premium Live Event.
