After several years of waiting in anticipation, AEW finally released its first ever video game AEW Fight Forever on 28th June 2023.
The game was supposed to be different from the usual WWE style of video games and offered fans a more arcade feel similar to WWF No Mercy. While the game had a lot of hype around it during the time of its release, that hype was quickly squashed once the reviews for the game came out.
AEW Fight Forever received mixed reviews from fans and critics with a 6/10 rating on Steam. With such mixed reviews, it didn’t take long for the sales to dwindle. This is largely due to some of the gameplay mechanics. AEW has now decided to take further action to boost its sales.
The company announced on social media that it was slashing its prices from $59.99 to $29.99 across all platforms starting today.
“If you’ve been holding out, the time to pick up your copy of #AEWFightForever is now! Starting today, AEW: Fight Forever is available at participating retailers for PS4, PS5, Xbox, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC at just $29.99!”
This is a massive price drop considering the game has only been out for less than a year but it still remains to be seen whether this will boost sales.
