Wade Barrett will reportedly step in as the replacement commentator for WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024, filling in for Booker T, who announced that he would be absent from the event and NXT TV for the next couple of weeks due to a medical procedure.
Corey Brennan of Fightful broke the news on Twitter, stating that Wade Barrett would be on the commentary team for NXT Vengeance Day. However, it has not been confirmed whether this change will extend to NXT TV, as Booker T is expected to be temporarily absent.
“I’ve been told Wade Barrett will be on the call tonight for #NXTVengeanceDay.”
“Booker T announced earlier today he would be missing the show and several weeks of television.”
Wade Barrett has prior experience in the NXT commentary booth, having worked alongside Vic Joseph for two years from August 2020 to October 2022. His familiarity with the NXT product makes him a suitable choice to fill in for Booker T during his absence.
NXT Vengeance Day will broadcast live on Peacock and WWE Network, and fans had the opportunity to witness the action unfold during the broadcast.
