The Rock is undoubtedly one of the biggest marquee attractions in the history of WWE. However, recent events show that the people’s connection has shifted from the People’s Champion to The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

The Great One made his shocking return to SmackDown this week to confront his dominant cousin and current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes seemingly paved the way for The Rock, revealing WWE’s current creative direction for WrestleMania 40.

However, The Rock taking away Cody Rhodes’ much-deserved WrestleMania spot after winning the 2024 Royal Rumble match invited a huge backlash from the fans. The fans voiced their displeasure in seeing a part-timer upstage the next potential flagship WWE star in Rhodes.

But there was still a section of Rock fans who supported WWE’s direction to go for the big money match between The Rock and Roman Reigns at the Show of Shows. However, when compared with the supporters of the ‘Justice for Cody’ movement, the comparison showed a huge difference in numbers, seemingly 100 to 1 for Rhodes in favor of The Brahma Bull.
