WWE Superstar Undergoes Yet Another Name Change

Name changes have become a very common thing in WWE, which can happen for a multitude of reasons. While it was more prevalent during Vince McMahon’s time in the company, Triple H has been doing these as well. In fact, he changed the name of a WWE Superstar yet again.

Over the past year, Los Lotharios (Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo) underwent a significant transformation after a period of being underutilized on the main roster. In September 2021, Angel and Humberto began teaming up on RAW, and later moved to NXT where they featured vignettes incorporating their grandfather as a prominent figure, portraying him as a legendary superstar.

The dynamics shifted in December when they aligned with Santos Escobar on the main roster as part of Friday Night SmackDown, becoming part of the feud with LWO.

Earlier this month, WWE.com indicated that the two stars were going by the names Angel and Humberto. However, there has been another change, at least for Humberto Carrillo. WWE has officially modified Humberto Carrillo’s name to ‘Berto.’ We’ll have to see if fans will like his new name in the end.
