AEW President Tony Khan has a lot of passion for professional wrestling but fans are now tired of how he has been booking the company. Khan is set to make a major announcement again on Dynamite next week and now it appears that could go a couple of ways.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Tony Khan’s upcoming announcement and what it could entail for AEW. Meltzer stated that he believes the announcement would be a show in Boston, where Mercedes Mone would debut. However, he added that it would also be a double announcement.

”I presume the announcement is a show in Boston and Mercedes Mone but could be a double announcement.”

Dave Meltzer suggested that the other part of the double announcement might involve Kazuchika Okada, considering he’s currently a free agent. Speculating on a potential agreement with AEW, Meltzer noted Okada’s ongoing New Japan commitments until the 24th, hinting at a possible surprise reveal in Greensboro on March 3rd. The outcome remains uncertain as the decision for both Okada and Mercedes Mone approaches.

You know he’s a free agent, as of right now. So he can go somewhere. There may be an agreement. If it’s AEW and he doesn’t announce it until after the 24th. I don’t know that there is. I’m just saying there might be because he’s still working New Japan shows until the 24th.”

“They could do somewhere to where they tease a big surprise for Greensboro on March 3rd and it’s him. Although it’s not going to be that big of a surprise because he’s going one place or the other. Him and Mercedes, it’s coming down to the wire.”

We have previously reported that Mercedes Mone is expected to make her return to professional wrestling by March this year. We have also reported Kazuchika Okada’s most likely landing spot following his NJPW departure. It remains to be seen whether Okada and Mone will be part of the announcement next week on AEW Dynamite.
